I used to do free-lance illustration.
I came across this square original in my files.
The larger markings are
yellow oil pastel on acrylic.
White acrylic makes up the negative spaces
between the flying books, as well as
the designs on the bindings.
Black watercolor is brushed over the oil pastel
to provide textural interest.
About ten inches square.
