ON SIMONTON STREET
I SET
out a fresh bowl of water several times a day
at my studio.
Simonton Street runs parallel to
very busy Duval Street
and many locals prefer to walk here with their dogs.
It's very crowded as New Year's approaches...

THE 28TH...
TODAY
is the 28th of December.
I have crisp new felt pens
for calligraphy
at my studio
in Key West.
We are one of the warmest places
in the country which makes
a happy holiday for all the tourists.

"SMACKEREL"
LIPS
like these were made to be kissed.
Mixed on rag board.
Print available.
"PAPA CAT"
SECOND
edition with enhanced collage corners.
But
still 24 toes....
"BERRY-LY HUNGRY"
WATERCOLOR
over oil pastel resist.
"TRANCE"
THIS IS TUCKER
artfully arranged near
my giclee called
"TRANCE".
IT's
a very sweet and clever portrait;
Tucker is so obloging.
I mean obliging.
Thanks for the cheer, Jen Shook!

SAINT FRANCIS, seated
"FRANCIS"
is a full sheet watercolor.
Collage of two pieces
of rag paper.
He is feeding two birds.
They look like very detailed woodblock prints;
I used really fine brushes.
And a razor for the" cracked" paper.
A closer look at his profile.
There is fine pattern in the fabric designs.
There is a little Italian hill-town, too.
I rarely paint pure watercolor these days
so this is fun to see.
