Linocuts

I'm spending a couple of days a week
at home; paperwork,laundry, etc.....

But I like to do some artful stuff.
Here are some designs I'm carving in linoleum surfaces
for collage.
all drawn in Painter 12.

Every day...

Every day I'm in the studio
I do a date/location card
for people
passing my studio door.
Some take photos by it
and
I've given it to couples on their
anniversary.
Mainly, it is an excuse to
start the day with
some calligraphy and a creative gesture.
Yes, I know I'm posting this on the 20th.

Speaking of creativity...
I had two visitors today who
are mother and daughter.
Daughter sings!
She sang some Puccini for me
and
her name is Marie Claire Curan.
Brava and break a leg!

More creativity:
"BUNNIE BOOGIE"
for
"Frangipani Gallery"
in Key West.

Oil on collage:

A day off...

Decided to take a day off with Bill.
We drove up the road for fish tacos at Mangrove Mamas.

To our left:

Not my photo. From someone who was closer.
Nailed a couple of great shirts at "Out of the Blue"
resale shop. I'm wearing touchable blue and white seersucker
as I write.

Home and hitting on Classic Movies Digest Facebook Page
for glamour,

and hand studies,

and summer stuff to share.

The kids at S. Monica:

Off to the studio for Saturday...

MONOPRINTS

At the end of the day
I clean my oil palette
by mixing all the colors together with some solvent/medium.

I roll a brayer over the big messy piece of glass
to even it out.
Then a clean piece of nice paper is laid on top.
Draw on the paper; lift it up: you've got
a monoprint.
The next day I work around the oil "drawing"
using acrylics and watercolors.
There's a little gold leaf in these, too.

These four are in my current exhibition at
WET PAINT GALLERY.

Clockwise from top, left:
"BIG GAME"
"RHINE MAIDENS"
"THE MARTYR"
and
"SWEET DREAMS"

DOGS in the new collection.

Yesterday
was my opening at
WET PAINT GALLERY
in Key West.
It's also Gay Pride Weekend
as you can see by the jumbo bunting.

I have a number of
new paintings of dogs.

There are some distracting
screws on the little wall.
We super-glued dog bones
to extend the doggie theme.

The three on the left
are oil on collage.

No party hats
but balloons, wine and lots of umbrellas;
it poured!

My best-selling prints greeted visitors.

SUPER SHIRT!

I THOUGHT
the image above would make
a cool t-shirt.
I said as much on my FB page.

The T-Shirt Factory surprised me for my birthday.

Ink is Wally Wood's parody (Mad Magazine)
of
SUPERMAN
from a series depicting cartoon characters acting
like normal people.
SUPERMAN has a hot date with Lois Lane.
A big thank you to the guys next door.

And I have a date tonight at
Wet Paint Gallery
for my Birthday show of new work.
