Collage

Artist /Neighbor Maggie Ruley has turned me on to deli-wrap paper. That’s the acrylic-sized, translucent  wrap for cheese and sandwiches. 500 sheets to the box. I use it for a pallette and then mix the left over paints to create tissues for collage. Here on larger scraps of foam-core board.

The papers are brushed down to the surface with acrylic gel medium. Here, random designs with added acrylic paint. But see the definte owl shape emerging on its branch.

'PICNIC'

'PICNIC' before and after:
just tweeked and
lacquered.

Little things added?
A white line on the wing.
A dark line on the bill.

By the way, this piece is painted on cheesecloth
adhered to rag board with acrylic gesso.

'MOON TIDE'

OIL ENAMEL
makes the darkest marks on this
scroll-like painting.
I got to do
my calligraphy and play
with 23 carat gold
below the lemon moon face.
