SUN RAIN, SUN

THIS WORK uses a bunch of different techniques. I 've photographed the work which is under glazing and hanging in the studio. A little glare but you can see many techniques and materials.

Up for Auction.....A Benefit for AIDS HELP

There's going to be an auction to benefit a local medical/hospice program in our county. I figured a bigger painting would bring in the most money......

This is called NICE HATS. Alkyd oil over acrylic on stretched canvas. I'll float it in a frame; today I'm going to paint the canvas' exposed edges a neutral gray.

DOTS

Ah, discount shopping at TJMAX... I found these removable vinyl dots and painted some self-promotion on them with alkyd oils. They were dry overnight and ride in  and out of Key West with me. Just sharing what I do with left-overs on my palette.

IN SEASON

LUSCIOUS OILS invite me to remain at the work table. Underpainted more than a month ago in acrylics, I unearthed this canvas from a corner of the studio. My studio seems to be my personal archeological site.

Alkyd oils on canvas; 16 x 20 inches.

HARBOR MASTER

AN ORIGINAL collage. It's primarily acrylic on paper but you'll see that lovely line quality of a mono print in the red squiggles and blue/gray parts.

The image of the mer-man (I always nick name them 'Ethel') is an appropriated image from a family crest layered with oil pastel and acrylic. It's abraded and picked with a razor to reveal the original black ink. Gold, watercolor and type correction film for the details.

I'll post another collage tomorrow.
