Musical "SCORES"

A SEATED
nude looking over librettos.
One of three male nudes
completed this week in Key West

Acrylic on Ampersand panel.

"A STRONG MAN" by David Scott Meier ; Key West

"A STRONGMAN"
(Acrylic on Ampersand panel)

Elegant, capable young man
in a trefoil'd border.
It's been wonderful working on that
rough ochre background
common to three panels.

"PEARLS' by David Scott Meier

"PEARLS"
is one of three male nudes
I've completed this week
All are linked by subject, color, dimension
and materials:
in this case acrylic and pencil on Ampersand panel.

The borders are rich looking.
Here's a detailed look at another:

PILOT parallel pens

My new toys...
with new pens, namely:

Crisp wet lines in different widths-
perfect for playing and informing
passersby off less-traveled Simonton Street.

Upcoming, entertaining greetings for the doorway at 316.

'Nothing like them in town.

Letters....I got letters.

Every day
I make a little sign
to let travelers know
where they are and the date.
It also means
is open.
Maximun occupancy: 4-ish.

I roll out what's left of my paints
onto some blocks I've carved.
This is a perfect little creative nugget
in a day that may be nothing but framing or UPS.

OUTSIDE and INSIDE

SUNNY
and warm in Key West.
Stopped by Wet Paint Gallery
to grab a shot of my new
"GOOD KISSER"
(oil on collage; 11 x 14 inches)

then back to my studio
to finish my
"PAPA CAT."

I added a beard and martini and extra toes....
He seemed like Mr. Hemingway with a round white face.

Three little mugs are we.....

I have done three designs for the shop next door.

Sweet Key West fish up top.

A Kissing Fish with dive flag scales
and
a cat who has drunk a martini: that's a stuffed olive in his tum-tum.

12 dollars each.
The Kissing Fish is also on a new tank top tee.

PEACHY!!!

THERE'S
a princess next door
at Pelican Poop!!!!

The cashier's post has
regal, antique gothic surroundings.
So Peach gets a sign...
and a few laughs.

Publicity!

Isn't that nice....
The Ampersand folks want to use this image for
their handsome advertising.
'Maybe because it shows a working artist.
"DRAWING BIRDS"
oil on 12 inch square panel.

AMPERSAND
panels are my preference ;
there's no 'bouncing' , dentable canvas!
They are textured like canvas and some
of the cradle/ supports are deep enough
to hang unframed.

I like to paste wax the panel supports for a gallery finish.
That saves me framing costs and shipping, too.

"FASTER"

I KEEP
coming back to these speedy guys.
There's always a dachshund on board....

Oil on collage; 11 x 14 inches.

"WATER-PROOF"

LOYALTY
thy name is "dog."

Faithful hound is oil on canvas;
I made 25 prints, too.
Each will have the halo and heart decorated with gold.

Studio: 305 731-9342

"TRANCE"

"TRANCE"
has been seen in the studio and is getting attention.
And so a print (edition of 50) is offered here.
Best in a 16 x 20 frame and priced at $50.

Swimming away....

I refer to this painting
with two different titles, I find.
Call it
"HOSPITALITY"
or
"WELCOME."

I like the second title best,
and it pleases the nice, smiling, new owners, too.

The wall for it has not been built yet
but I know she'll be happy there.

I get to look at her 'til she moves.
Oil on canvas; 24 X 56 or so...

GOOD KISSER FOR T-SHIRT

DOODLING
for the printer.
